
What is Occupational Therapy?
At OT & ME, we enhance the growth on all occupations of occupational therapy, By doing these, it allows room for growth and independence. Occupational therapy means aiding you in doing activities of daily life that are purposeful and meaningful to the patient.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) & Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
For ADL & IADL training, at OT & ME, we practice dressing, hygiene and grooming, feeding, and functional mobility. We also cover caring for others/pets, preparing a simple meal, communication management, cleaning, and laundry.

Rest & Sleep
We help children engage in quiet activities, resulting in a relaxed state with the use of noise machines, meditation, or simply, laying down to rest our body.

Education
We encourage participating in academic activities, like writing letters, numbers, and name.

Work
At a young age, work can be seen as chores. We allow children to participate in chores within the room, with or without a reward. (ex. sweeping, dusting, etc.)

Play & Leisure
We allow participating in play and play exploration, like pretend play. Also, participating in appropriate leisure activities based on interests.

Social Participation
At OT & ME, there is plenty of encouragement to engage in activities involving social interaction with other children.
